“Welt Im Wandel” is a 40-page graphic novel designed to engage young adults (14–18) in discussions about the environmental crisis through compelling storytelling and dynamic visuals. The novel features five interconnected stories set across different times and locations, linked by recurring themes. This structure encourages readers to explore the causes of climate change with curiosity, adopting a detective-like approach to uncover deeper meanings.
As the Visual Concept Designer, I collaborated with a colleague to co-create the overarching concept, effectively capturing the complexity of the topic. Together, we developed a concept storyboard that became the foundation for the illustrations. As the Art Director, I established the visual style, ensuring alignment with the narrative’s tone. I guided the team through the design process, maintaining consistency and quality throughout. As the Illustrator, I brought the story to life with detailed and vibrant visuals, creating relatable characters and immersive environments.
The graphic novel highlights the power of engaging, accessible storytelling to spark meaningful conversations about critical global issues.
